Yesterday, for the Aquatic and SCUBA Club we had a speaker come and talk to us about ice diving. We met at the North Country Brewing Co. and Barry Smyda set up his presentation. I love SCUBA diving, but I hate being cold, so I'm not sure I would enjoy it. It looked really interesting though. I could see myself trying it some day, but until then, I will stick with warm water SCUBA diving. It was interesting how different it was from warm water SCUBA, though.

The Slippery Rock University had our last Dive-In Movie of the year today. We didn't have as many kids as we wanted, and we also had some technical issues when we were setting up the DVD player and the projector. Liz Bright and I had previously shopped at the dollar store to get some small prizes for the kids to have a treasure hunt, but unfortunately we didn't get the chance to have the scavenger hunt. We got the movie Turtle Tales Two, and the few kids that were there, along with the club members, actually enjoyed it. We are still a new club and we are still learning, but hopefully we will have more success with future Dive-In Movies.

Finally got my video filmed! My roommate helped me in the process by actually filming me up at the stadium. I am a little concerned about the wind in the video, but you can hear me over the wind. It was fun filming it because I haven't been able to throw a javelin in over a month due to a back injury. Boy, it felt awesome to have it back in my hands. Hopefully the whole editing process on MovieMaker turns out!

Today is the big day!!! The Slippery Rock University Health and Physical Education Department has come up with the idea to create a "Recess" for college students today. Our goal is to get people that are walking by to join in to the games the department has set up all over the central "quad" of the school. There will be games like Corn hole, can jam, horse shoes, and more! For the people who do not have time to stop and play these games, there will be hop scotch on the sidewalks, so they can hop scotch on the way to class. Hopefully this is a hit today so that we can plan many more days like this next year, and maybe even have a whole recess DAY! This will be held from 11 to 2, so stop on by!
